This project was made for the Native Village of Eyak by Designori. I was the primary artist assigned to work on bringing this historical village to life. The primary work was on creating the assets of the buildings and artifacts such that they were historically and culturally accurate based on available archeological evidence. The potlach house design was based on scans taken from the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The texture work for the house was also done using these scans; the albedo and normals were baked onto a plane and exported as a single texture that was applied to the entire model except the roof and the entrance log. This made for a very efficient texturing process. The meat cache textures were made in substance, but the rest were derived from photos and scans.
After all the assets were made, I imported and placed them into the Unity scene, added foliage and other props, then turned over to our development department as a finished environment.
